As It Happens (Finn)

11-year-old OTTB Gelding | 15.3–16h

Finn is now happily continuing his journey at home with Kim, where he remains a core part of the Suffield Stables program and is being thoughtfully developed up the dressage levels.

Personable, willing, and eager to please, Finn continues to shine both in the dressage arena and on the trails. He has been carefully and systematically developed in dressage, consistently scoring in the 60s at USDF Intro levels and earning Reserve Champion at the 2025 NODA Summer Schooling Series Championship – Intro Level, qualifying for and competing successfully in the series finals.

Finn is currently schooling First and Second Level movements and will be competing at Training Level and First Level during the upcoming show season. Judges frequently comment on his lovely gaits, soft and steady contact, and willing attitude, highlighting both his quality and rideability.

Finn’s natural movement, steady mind, and strong work ethic make him a joy to work with every day. He is a wonderful example of the OTTB transformation journey at Suffield Stables, demonstrating the success that comes from patient, correct, and compassionate training.

💫 Fun fact: Finn continues to be a barn favorite and a consistent partner in the arena, showcasing the long-term potential of OTTBs when developed thoughtfully and given the time to progress correctly.
